SYNOPSIS:

Synopsis
Antonio is a hardened criminal; after ten years in jail, his only thought is to find the responsible of the shooting that put his entire family underground. His old gang members would like him to rejoin them for a last heist, which could put them on top of Rome’s criminal scene. Antonio agrees, but only because they guarantee their help in finding the mysterious murderer he seeks.
In the meantime, Teresa, a young workaholic Detective unable to live a normal life and relationships, is losing sleep on a drug related case. After the last roundup, Don Ferdinando punishes the Detective by killing her father; as a result, Police Commissioner Grimaldi decides to take Teresa off the case. At the same time, Antonio and his gang plan and execute a robbery against Don Ferdinando, who is, according to Antonio, the best one to target to gain control of the city. The van robbery pulls for the first time Teresa and Antonio together, since she’s in charge of the investigations.

SYNOPSIS:

In Greek, the name “Sozopolis” means “the town of salvation”. Even though this isn't directly stated, it is exactly salvation that is the main motif in this story. An aging man goes back to Sozopol and brings along his memories and ten bottles of vodka. He has to answer the questions that he has been thoroughly avoiding his whole life. Chavo has to dive into his memories and into the ten bottles of vodka, as if into the ten circles of hell, in order to try and understand what he did wrong in his life, what we did wrong in our lives, and why we finally ended up living in a desert-like world. A creature that is not from this world, much like Virgil, will accompany him in this venture – the Freak. She knows everything about Chavo and the love of his life, Neva. The Freak sends mysterious e-mails to Chavo’s friends and to Neva, who’s living in Montreal. They must all come to Sozopol and help their friend, who is in danger. The stories from the past unfold. They are humane and easy to relate to, but at the same time, filled with some sort of quiet folly. The folly to keep on believing in love and friendship, despite all the bitter disappointments and betrayals. Even despite your own unforgivable faults. The folly to keep on believing in the magical world of your childhood, because the only thing a world in which all the magic is gone deserves is to sink to the sea bed.
